Studio Notes · Sept 2025

Hello all,

An enthusiastic hello on this gray fall day! After taking a summer break from my monthly Studio Notes, I’m glad to be back. Lately, most of my energy has been going into the studio itself, so think of this as a gentle re-entry — just a few updates on what’s coming up and what I’ve been up to.

As always, my heartfelt thanks to you all for following along. Hoşçakalın! 🧿

miniMAC

A local gem in Northwest Philadelphia, Mt. Airy Contemporary, has put together a show of my work alongside Kaya Wielopolski in Placings.

This tiny but ingenious gallery — known as miniMAC — is run by the inspiring artists Andrea and Colleen, and I’m so grateful for the chance to share my work there.

If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d love for you to stop by — and even better, come say hello (I live just a few blocks away!)

On view September 12 – November 1, 2025.

InLiquid

I’m excited to share that I’ve joined InLiquid, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit artist community that has been supporting and connecting artists since the 1990s and maintains a vibrant presence in the city.

I joined because I’m looking to build more connections in the art world and to meet other artists whose paths I might not cross otherwise. I’m looking forward to the conversations and collaborations that can grow from being part of this community.

If you’d like to see more of my work, you can visit my profile page here.

Devotions No.55, 18in x 18in, oil pastel on paper, sgraffito technique; one of the several new drawings and ceramic wall sculptures I’m getting ready for the open studio.

Open Studio | October 18-19

My studiomate Riley Fargione and I are once again taking part in POST (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours), the city-wide open studios event organized by the Center for Emerging Visual Artists. We’d love to invite Philly friends — and anyone willing to travel — to visit our studio in Germantown, along with 10+ other artists in our building.

We had such a wonderful turnout last year and are excited to gather together again this fall!

And if you can’t make it that weekend but would like to visit the studio another time, I’d love to hear from you.

Hope to see some of you in a few weeks!

Seher

Until next month, hoşçakalın!
